uppercrustShale Media Group’s (SMG) monthly Elite Energy Events (E3) highlight and recap the current happenings in the shale oil and gas industry. SMG is kicking off 2015 with an E3 that’s going to focus on different elements of industry safety and take a comprehensive look at the shale oil and gas industry for 2015.

The E3 is scheduled for January 22, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at the Holiday Inn Monroeville: 2750 Mosside Boulevard, Monroeville, PA 15146. Drinks and networking will be available throughout the night. In addition, catering will be provided by The Upper Crust, a family owned and operated Italian Bistro stationed at the heart of downtown Washington, PA and the Holiday Inn Monroeville Restaurant, Madison’s Bar & Grille, which will provide an open bar.

Peeking into 2015, let’s take a look at Shale Media Group’s 2014 E3 timeline, as it was filled with engaging industry speakers, charity-tailored functions, and CNG (compressed natural gas) focused themes.

Engaging Industry Speakers

A University of Pittsburgh graduate with stops in Buffalo and Pittsburgh, Rick Stouffer, Senior Energy Editor, Shale Media Group, has more than three decades of journalistic experience, concentrating on the development of the Marcellus and Utica Shale plays since Range Resources drilled the first well in the Marcellus in 2004. stoufferStouffer now delivers action-packed briefings at the E3s and is also the Senior Energy Editor for Shale Energy Business Briefing, an ad-free subscription based service, where subscribers receive a real-time, daily email, featuring concise, hard hitting shale news 7 days/week, 365 days/year.

Other captivating speakers of the E3s, included: Shane Hollerich, Petroleum Engineer, Vulcan Oilfield Services; Greg Cook, CEO, Mustang Oilfield Services; Ray Pader, CEO, Shale Markets; Dave Dudo, Senior Vice President of Operations, Beemac Trucking; and Dr. Stephen Whitehead, Associate Provost of Innovation, California University of Pennsylvania.

Charity-Tailored Functions

On June 26, 2014 SMG joined forces with Legacies Alive and their 2014 Mike’s Hiking For Heroes Legacy Challenge, a nonprofit fueled by Co-Founders Mike Viti and Mark Faldowski, where Viti hiked over 7,100 kilometers around the United States, honoring Gold Star families. At the June E3, the event brought in over 100 attendees and raised just over $2,500 for the nonprofit.

CNG-Focused Themes

2014 was the year for CNG, a rising star when it comes to alternative fuels. On September 18, 2014, in front of the Holiday Inn Express in Bentleyville, PA, Energy from U.S. 1, a new CNG and propane fueling station, held their groundbreaking. The one of a kind station offering both CNG and propane options is positioned in a prime location right off of I-70 along Route 917 in Bentleyville and halfway between Washington, PA and New Stanton, PA.
Also helping the CNG cause was Beemac Trucking, who celebrated the grand opening of their Bee Green CNG fueling station in Ambridge, Pennsylvania on September 25, 2014 at the E3. Beemac Trucking is a leader in building CNG infrastructure, as the Bee Green project was the first CNG fueling station for Beaver County, PA and the sixth in the greater Pittsburgh region.
