absFrom small hand tools to large construction equipment and nearly everything in between, Absolute Equipment rents, sells, and services a wide range of equipment. Rachel Grossman, Marketing Manager, Absolute Equipment, expressed, “Absolute Equipment can be best described as our motto—dependable equipment for you to build a better tomorrow. The ‘dependable equipment’ is not only the dependable and quality equipment we offer, but also our reliable service that our knowledgeable and helpful team provides.”

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, Absolute Equipment has been servicing Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio for over 50 years. Since 1959 the company has been helping contractors and homeowners in the equipment rental business. “The business began as mainly a general rental business and homeowner’s equipment rental business. However, for the past decade Absolute Equipment has continually added to our fleet, grown steadily, and evolved to what it is today,” explained Grossman.

abs1In addition to working with general construction and homeowners, Absolute Equipment now works with the shale oil and gas industry, bridge painting and sandblasting, utility work, and landscapers. Grossman says the company has been supplying generators, light towers, and air compressors to shale oil and gas industry well sites in the tri-state area.

The vast shale gas reserves associated with the Marcellus and Utica Shale plays have revitalized the greater Pittsburgh region and in that process have helped many established ancillary businesses, such as Absolute Equipment. Grossman relayed, “The shale oil and gas industry has given us opportunity. It is another industry that we can service and an industry that we can grow with.”

abs3One area of equipment supplies in the shale oil and gas industry that has needed some extra attention lately is heaters. Absolute Equipment supplies this recent commodity (due to old man winter) to various industries. Trace Bender, Rental Manager, Absolute Equipment, explained, “Heater rentals and sales pick up especially when we get single digit days in the shale oil and gas industry, as well other industries we service.”

In addition, Absolute Equipment is the authorized Doosan (previously known as Ingersoll-Rand) portable power distributor for air compressors, generators, and light towers in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia’s Northern Panhandle. The company also supplies welders; arrow boards; aerial lifts; contractors equipment; lawn and garden and landscaping equipment; material handling equipment; home owner equipment; heaters; fans and dehumidifiers; skid loaders; track machines; and mini excavators.

abs2Absolute Equipment provides 24 hour emergency delivery and pick up service. In addition their parts department also carries an extensive inventory for the equipment. Grossman also pointed out, “We offer monthly specials. Every month we post a flyer of specials on our website, as well as mailing out the flyer to our customers. The monthly special flyer shows the specials we have for that month along with all of the various types of equipment we rent and sell—both new and used.”

abs4Something that also makes the company unique is that Absolute Equipment is a locally owned and operated Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE). Grossman explained, “We are actually certified by the Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), which is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women in the United States.”

Absolute Equipment is located at 3038 Babcock Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. For more information on the company, visit their website at http://www.absoluteequip.com; call 412.931.6655; or email absoluteequipment@absoluteequip.com.
